Three small steps to your sunrise.

01 · GET COMFORTABLE

Place your screen nearby

A tablet gives you a larger light surface. Connect your charger and set the display brightness to a comfortable level. The room, distance and display affect how much light reaches you.

02 · GIVE IT A TRY

Preview your morning

The 30-second demo shows 24 seconds of changing light and then 6 seconds of your chosen sound. Try it in your room before using a longer session.

03 · LEAVE IT OPEN

Start, then keep the page visible

Check the keep-awake status after starting. Fullscreen is available where supported. Switching apps or locking the screen interrupts this session; returning asks you to start again.

Know your sunrise

A screen, with a few limits.

This is a simple screen-light experience. Your phone's usual alarm remains your backup.

Does this change my screen's brightness setting?

No. It changes the colours displayed on your screen, from very dark to warm white. Set the device's actual brightness yourself. On some displays, even a black screen can give off a little light.

Can I disable screen sleep just for this app?

Yes, where supported. Leave Keep screen awake while the sunrise runs selected, then start your sunrise. The browser requests keep-awake for this visible session and releases it when you stop. It does not change the device’s general auto-lock setting. If permission is denied or released, a message explains that the screen may turn off. Manually locking the screen still interrupts the session.

Will it turn on a locked or sleeping screen?

No. Keep the screen on, unlocked and showing this page. When supported, the browser can request a screen wake lock to prevent automatic sleep, but the device may release it. About keeping a browser screen awake.

When does the light and sound start?

The light begins 10, 20, 30 or 45 minutes before your selected wake-up time. If less time remains, the sunrise starts immediately and is shortened. Sound begins at wake-up and fades in over 8 seconds. The full session ends 5 minutes after wake-up, or when you stop it.

What if I close or reload the page?

The session does not continue reliably in the background. Closing or reloading cancels it. If you switch away and return, you will be asked to start a new session. This version does not save alarms or repeat them automatically.

Is it the same as a dedicated sunrise lamp?

No. A phone or tablet has a different light output from a dedicated lamp. We do not claim a particular light intensity, sleep benefit or guaranteed wake-up result. Try the demo to see how the screen looks in your own room.

Where do the sounds come from?

The five sounds come from the original WakeUpSounds collection created for these projects. They are synthesized sounds, including the nature-inspired options. No third-party recordings or artist tracks are included.
